This attractive small cottage is in an idyllic location on a plot of gently sloping land alongside the River Genal, and only 15 minutes drive south of Gaucín. It has lovely views of the mountains and is surrounded by picturesque countryside in a protected area of outstanding natural beauty.

The single-storey cottage was constructed to a good standard in 2008 using traditional materials, including locally produced stone, oak and pine. The attractive ‘Scandinavian’ design and thick stone walls makes it a cosy, comfortable cottage with a lovely rustic ambience in harmony with its beautiful surroundings.

The property is accessed approx. 1.5 km along a track (5 minutes drive) from the main road between Casares/Gaucin.

The open-plan living accommodation is characterful & comfortable, with solid oak flooring and a beamed ceiling in pine.  It is quite spacious and comprises a cosy sitting area with a wood-burning stove, feature wall with exposed stone and a circular window. There is also a dining area, a double bedroom, a modern walk-in shower room with slate tiling, and a small kitchen area with a breakfast bar.

The second double bed is located on an upper mezzanine area, accessed via a wooden staircase from the living room. There is also a large comfortable sofa-bed in the living room.

In front of the cottage there is a shady patio area with a small jacuzzi and plenty of space for creating further terracing and garden areas. There is a wooden tool shed, and a small wooden ‘summerhouse’ for children available to erect.

The land comprises 2.8 acres of gently sloping land adjoining the nearby river and is suitable for grazing horses, sheep etc. The area is abundant with wildlife such as deer, wild pigs and otters, and is ideal for birdwatching with regular visitors including kingfishers, bee-eaters, nightingales, heron, storks, hoopoes, woodpeckers, owls, eagles and vultures.

A few minutes walk takes you down to the riverside, which is accessible for swimming and is a beautiful spot for a picnic. It offers many natural swimming pools and is perfect for canoeing, river-trekking on foot or horseback. (The river rarely runs dry, except during exceptionally long, hot summers).

The finca contains several established indigenous trees such as olive, carob, eucalyptus, and various fruit trees.
