This delightful country property was constructed in 2002 within an old almond grove, and combines old-world Spanish charm with authentic Andalusian character and style.

The house is very private and located on a hillside overlooking the River Genal valley with stunning views to the Mediterranean Sea, Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of Morocco. The surrounding countryside is very picturesque and the hillsides are cloaked with indigenous trees such as cork oak & pine, providing greenery all year round.

The property is only a few minutes drive south from Gaucin and is accessed via a concrete road (quite steep) just off the main road. The Mediterranean coastal motorway is only 25 mins drive away).  The driveway leads to a paved parking area and the splendid covered portico next to the main entrance. The antique doors lead directly into the main living accommodation.

Ground floor:

The spacious living room is light, airy and comfortable. It has a welcoming, homely ambience with an open fireplace and beamed ceiling. There is a TV/snug area (or study) with French doors leading out to the substantial covered terrace, an ideal spot for ‘al-fresco’ dining and entertaining. The country-style kitchen is well presented and there is an adjacent dining room with French doors leading to the rear of the house where there is a separate utility/store room.

The hallway leads to two double guest bedrooms and a separate shower room with a walk-in shower. One guest room is en-suite (bath w/shower over), has a built-in wardrobe, beamed ceiling, and a French door leading to the south-facing terrace. The other guest room also has a built-in wardrobe & beamed ceiling. Both bathrooms are very pretty with blue tiling and beamed ceilings.

Upper floor:

The master bedroom suite occupies the upper floor. It is large, light and airy with a pitched beamed ceiling, built-in wardrobes, polished wood floor, two French doors with Juliet balconies having spectacular views to the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and beyond. The generous en-suite has a large bath with shower over. This beautiful room overlooks the lawned garden and the impressive swimming pool and surrounding terraces.

Exterior:

Along a short path, there is a separate guest annex comprising an en-suite double bedroom with built-in wardrobes.

The south-facing covered terrace provides welcome shade for ‘al-fresco’ dining in summer, and the lawned garden area in front of the house is perfect for children.

The large swimming pool (10m x 5m) has wonderful views across the river valley to the Mediterranean Sea, Gibraltar and Morocco. The surrounding terraces offer plenty of space for sunbathing and BBQ.

The paved parking area adjacent to the house has space for several cars.

The land comprises approx. 11 acres with some areas suitable for grazing sheep, goats or horses. There are lots of indigenous shrubs & trees such as cork oak, olive, almond, carob etc. and a variety of fruit trees including lemon, orange, apple, peach, fig and nispero. There is a vegetable garden and a chicken run with wooden housing.
