Hello, my name is Dianne Shotton - I first visited Gaucίn in 1999 with my husband, a retired architect, and we instantly fell in love with this magical 'White Village' in the mountains of western Andalucίa, not far from Ronda.  So much so, that we had a 'millennium moment' in 2000 and decided to relocate to Gaucίn, leaving behind our UK roots in North Yorkshire!  After some years becoming acquainted with this beautiful area, I rekindled a long-standing interest in properties and noticed a niche in the local property sales market.. so in 2009 gaucίn properties was formed!

If you are not familiar with Gaucίn, the village nestles in the saddle of a spiny mountain ridge at 620m above sea level, with its majestic Castle of Eagles silhouetted against the skyline.  The village is famous for its awesome views across the River Genal valley to the Mediterranean, Gibraltar & Rif mountains of North Africa – views of two continents!  The area is surrounded by Natural Parks, providing a wonderful base for following country pursuits such as walking, hiking, birdwatching, horse-riding, trekking, cycling, canoeing, rock-climbing etc.

The COSTA DEL SOL is only 30 mins away with many 'blue flag' beaches & world-famous golf courses, including VALDERRAMA, LA RESERVA & FINCA CORTESIN.  PUERTO SOTOGRANDE & SANTA MARIA POLO CLUB are only 40 mins away. The lovely old coastal town of ESTEPONA is 40 mins drive, whilst the hustle and bustle of glitzy MARBELLA, with its magnificent shops and restaurants, is a 50 mins drive.  TARIFA, the world-famous surfing resort on the COSTA DE LA LUZ, is also within easy reach, offering day-trips by fast ferry to MOROCCO to explore the exotic markets of TANGIER!

For those more interested in history & culture, the medieval town of RONDA, with its world-famous El Tajo gorge & one of the oldest bullrings in Spain, is only 40 mins drive away.  Popular tourist cities such as SEVILLA, GRANADA, CORDOBA, JEREZ and CADIZ are only a day-trip away, and there are three airports within easy reach at MALAGA, GIBRALTAR & JEREZ.
