Founder
In 1999, an unexpected quirk of fate brought my husband and I to Gaucín for the first time, and this magical white village captured our hearts from the very first moment! We were so charmed by Gaucín that, a few months later, when we experienced a life-changing "Millennium moment," we left behind our roots in North Yorkshire and Gaucín became our new home.
When we settled into our new lives, my husband pursued his career in architecture, and I nurtured a long-held interest in property. So, in 2010, I founded a local real estate agency. My vision was simple — introduce buyers to properties as friends, with integrity, honesty, patience, and an eye for the right fit! Today, alongside my business partner Donald Black, we continue to help buyers and sellers to navigate the property market with insight, care, and genuine enthusiasm that only long-term locals can offer.
This simple, yet successful, model hasn’t changed over the years. What has changed is our map — from a handful of village houses in Gaucín in the beginning, our portfolio has now extended to several other areas of this beautiful corner of western Andalucía.
Sales & Marketing Director
My love affair with Spain began in the 1960s, with childhood holidays at our family villa on the Costa de la Luz. When my parents retired in 1980, they swapped Oxford for a home near Marbella — I wasn't far behind, and the Costa del Sol has been my home ever since.
Having lived and worked across this region for several decades, with extensive experience in real estate sales and marketing, I feel a deep connection to this spectacular corner of Andalucía. I’ve acquired a wealth of local knowledge and cultural fluency — I'm also fluent in Spanish, and have a working knowledge of French and German.
I recently joined Dianne as partner in the business she founded in 2010, with responsibility for sales and marketing. Her early vision built a thriving niche agency in Gaucín, and I'm proud to carry that work forward, introducing new buyers to this beautiful region of Southern Spain.

Rich history, modern appeal
Gaucín’s economy once relied on agriculture, with muleteers carrying cork, produce, and salted fish —
and sometimes contraband cigarettes and alcohol — along mountain paths now enjoyed as scenic hiking
trails.
The surrounding mountains and protected River Genal valley shelter rich wildlife and ancient cork forests,
a treasure of western Andalucía. The region is also famed for Ibérico ham from free-roaming, acorn-fed pigs.
A quieter pace of life
Today, international residents live in harmony with the local community, enjoying a slower pace, stunning
views, and glorious climate. Gaucín draws artists, writers, and photographers, with regular cultural events
including the popular annual Art Gaucín Open Studios.
Village amenities include a boutique hotel, international restaurants, tapas bars, a supermarket, organic
food shop, delicatessens, antique and gift shops, and art galleries — plus a swimming pool, tennis and
padel courts, a gym, and guided hiking trails.
Nearby Ronda — culture and heritage
Historic Ronda is home to Spain’s oldest bullring (1784) and the dramatic El Tajo gorge, spanned by an
18th-century bridge — legend says its architect fell to his death trying to catch his hat as it blew off during
the final inspection. Ronda’s charm drew Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles, cementing its
international appeal.
Gaucín offers natural beauty, rich heritage, and a warm community —
an exceptional place to visit, invest in, or call home!
